After an exciting plane ride, we were so happy to be greeted by dear Uncle Phil at the airport. He loaded us into BIG WHITE, the suburban Adam's parents kindly let us borrow for our stay, and took us to his home where Aunt Janice had made us lunch and had gathered her kids together so we could all catch up. After our visit we piled back into BW and took off into the sunset towards home, determined to make it before Santa Clause.
We arrived home in time for dinner, showers, pjs, and the nativity story. The big girls each took turns playing their Christmas hymns as we sang along. They may have exaggerated their playing abilities a bit and we had an interesting time following along, but I was still proud of them.
Another suprise: Uncle Steven joined us for Christmas. He didn't make it all the way home to Connecticut, but AZ is pretty close to Utah were he is going to school this year, so he hopped in a plane and met us at the airport. He could not stop laughing as he watched us de-plane, we must have been a sight! Screaming baby, screaming Cayden, and whinning Gracie. I think we set his parental clock back a few years. While he is still antsie to find a wife, I think he is fine on waiting for kids for a while.
But we had a great time spending our Hyder Chrismas with him.
All the boys reverently listening to the story of our Savior's birth.
Hanging our stockings-Ours are the bottom row.
You know how in each extended family there is the one sibling with the crazy kids that bring chaos and loudness to the households they visit?
I AM that sibling with the numerously, loud family. Haha!
Don't forget the new Christmas jammies sent from Nana Marble!
And off to bed!
They slept so good. If it wasn't so much work, I'd make them travel every Christmas eve, so we wouldn't have any hassle once it really was bedtime:)
Then the Christmas Elves started their work.
I had all our presents sent out to my mom's house in advance(thank you very much Amazon Prime and my mother-in-law for letting me use her account) and while I tried to keep everything small and manageable, a five kid Christmas is no small feat. Luckily with my brothers and sister around the wrapping party didn't have to last all night. Thank you, guys. And thank you too Mom! She was Santa's big helper in getting the stockings stuffed.
And Christmas Morning everyone woke up to a new scooter!
Grandma even held it together enough to let them scoot once around her new wooded floors before banshing them to the porches:)
Trucks for the babe, Trains for the Cayden, Dollies for the Gracie, and Art supplies for the big girls.
A paintball gun, grilling apron, camo flashlight hat, and gift above all gifts....
a remote control helicopter for the big boys.
Merry Christmas to ALL!
