Sally Turns 90

Our good friend Sally turned 90 this past month and it was my pleasure to help with her party.  I tried my best to stay behind the scenes and work on things like the invitations and slide show, but was conned into being in the lip sync that I suggested we add to the entertainment(sheesh, remind me to keep my ideas to myself next time) Just kidding, it was a lot of fun being that goofy for a bit.

And I even persuaded/forced Adam to do it with us.

The night went so smoothly, it was a pleasure to hear from the guests special moments and memories they had had with Sally and Tom(her late husband).  Sally sure is a classy lady and we are so fortunate to be able to know her.

I was especially excited to work on her slideshow, to hear the life stories that go along with all of these photographs.  My favorite story is not really a story of her life that she likes to tell, in fact she tries to keep it hidden.
Shh, ready?

Sally graduated from high school two years behind schedule!

She only told me about it because on the graduation picture that she had given me she hadn't written a date and I called her for it later as I was working on the slide show.  I wanted to double check that I had done the math right and that she had finished highschool in 1940.  She kindly corrected me telling me that she had graduated in 1942.  I scratched my head a bit trying to figure it out, but soon gave up and moved onto more photos.
Sally called me the next day distressed.  She wanted to make sure that I got the whole story before I labeled her as a "dolt".  She had been a sickly child and in second grade she had to have an operation, and then again in seventh grade.  Back then, if you missed too much school, you repeated a grade.
After hearing her story, I assured her that I never for a second thought of her as a "dolt" and that I was happy her health had improved since her childhood.

Here are some of my favorites.

Can you see how they are holding hands?
