The girls are in their fourth week of school already,
The onslaught of school events has started,
Band practice starts next week for our new little flute player, Ellie,
We are pounding away at the piano,
Spelling words are being practiced,
Cub Scouts and Activity Days are in full swing,
We have four family birthdays in the next 30days,
Halloween is right around the corner,
Our traditional fall campout, don't forget,
Thanksgiving plans to be made,
And 95 days till Christmas!
But I just want to take a breather from my ever increasing lists to say...
That today was the most breathtaking day imaginable!
Today is the kind of day that I want to bottle up and send to my good family and friends in sunny AZ, and let it explode all over their still deathlike summery 110 degree evenings, and say,"This is why we live in Connecticut!"
Fall is here! Not in the "ooh, chilly, break out the boots and hot chocolate kinda fall" but the very beginnings where the sunshine is still warm and the breezes are just beginning to move a little faster and the only the very tippy tops of the trees are just barely starting to show a little color. In the mornings you'll need a sweatshirt, but you'll be fine in the afternoon with your short sleeves. It is perfect outside weather and I find myself stuffing my littles in the car each morning in search of that precious park time that will soon disappear after this next month. There will be plently of time to stay inside and play with our toys this winter, now is the time to be outside!!
The kids and I got to drive north this afternoon for a few errands, and the beauty of this place just kept on hitting me. After 9 years of living here in the East, I still can't get over the trees and all the changes they go through. I try to call the beauty to the attention of my girls, but they are Easterns snobs and pay no attention.
After our errands, we had no time for a proper dinner, but pancakes on the deck always pleases everyone.

This fall has been incredible. Pancakes on the deck sounds perfect. :) And I can totally see Ellie playing the flute!
okay, I am totally jealous, so wish we had that kind of weather here...and a deck, oh the joys to be had. Enjoy it! Your kids are such cuties!!! Oh and yum! Breakfast for dinner is always wonderful!
Seriously! September is the best month. It makes putting up with heat in the summer and cold in the winter worth it. Enjoy your park time!
Surprisingly, fall is BEAUTIFUL in northern new mexico, too! My children will never understand what it's like growing up in brown desert.
