Back We Go

Here they are the newest set of 2nd and 4th graders for the 2012-2013 school year.

Ellie is super excited to go to a new school, with lockers, and band, and homerooms.  She is also a bit nervous about being the underdog once again.  She so loved being one of the big 3rd graders in her primer school and now to start over again.  Ohh, well, it'll happen a few more times, better get used to being the freshman.

Emma says she is happy to have the school to herself this year without a big sister watching over her, but I know she'll miss her at some point.  Luckily they still get to ride the same bus, and we don't have to hassle with different pickups.  Emma came home the first afternoon saying she liked her teacher, even though she wasn't as fun as she thought she would be.

That Ellie grows taller every year, she'll be up past my shoulder by the years end.

Adam and I are even looking a bit older ourselves.

And don't forget, one more hug for Daddy.

A few days later, these three piled into our own little yellow school bus to take Gracie to her preschool.
The morning started off a bit chilly, thus the sweatshirts.

And we were so excited to see the changes in her classroom.  Down had come the room divider that used to split up the preschool and music class, and it was all for the preschool.  It is now so open, and light, and just plain beautiful.  I loved it.  Such a perfect place for those little ones.  I don't often envy preschool teachers(yikes) but what I wouldn't do for a room like that for my brood.

Gracie jumped right in, hugged her teachers, and told me I could leave now.
Bye, bye Green Bean.

Me and the boys rode off into that beautiful morning and we might have stopped for donuts on the way home:)
