Birthday Girl

My little Emma has had a birthday.  I love it when kids turn that one year older and you can say things like, "Now that your seven Emma, you can do...."  Oh, ho that is one of my favorite parts.

Emma's birthday was on the Saturday when were traveling home from Florida.  We tried to make the day fun by eating yummy things in the airport and renting a new movie for her to watch on the plan, but Emma had some specific things in mind for her birthday and traveling was not one of them  Luckily, grandma at home was on the job. She shopped for some presents and whipped up a birthday cake for the special girl so we could celebrate the next day after church.

See, all is better, especially when you finally get your own ipod!

And finally, we are pet owners!
Emma's relentless pleading finally won us over and she now has a rabbit, Honey Bunny!
He or she, (no one has really looked yet) is pretty cute and thus far hasn't cause too much havoc.  Our main goal is to keep Cayden from smooshing it with love.  Good thing its a fast hopper.

So happy birthday Emma Bemma.  You sure are growing up, and I laugh because I believe you are trying your hardest not to grow up at all.  You still love to imagine your days away in pretend play.  I love that you picked out a suit of armor with your gift certificate from the toy store and that you wear it every afternoon after school.  I love how musical you are and I am so proud to see that maybe you have a bit of a math mind too.  Your story telling still continues to entertain us and your reading and writing are helping you to understand the world a bit more.  I can't believe we actually got you a pet!  You have a mighty power of persuasion Emma, and I hope you learn to use it for good someday:)  Seven is one of the funnest ages I remember, so have a great year little girl!

Happy birthday little Emma! 7! That is an age I can remember, not much before that, you are right, Kayla, 7 was fun. I can't believe you have a rabbit! We are against all forms of animals at this point. I wonder if that is because we grew up on a farm and we know what real responisiblity feels like. hmmmm.....
