Emma and her 100th Day of School project made the town paper.
We were all pretty shocked to see our little girl in the paper. She, of course, was not. She told us that day coming home that she would be in the newspaper, and we kinda shrugged our shoulders and said, "Sure, Emma, that would be cool. But we'll see."
She is my Anne of Green Gables child. When she is happy she is soaring in the clouds, but when things don't go her way she is "in the depths of despair." We were all excited to see that hers dreams of being famous were not dashed.
This is our traditional 100th day project, meaning we did the same with Ellie. I have a set of colorful Sharpie markers and we took an plain shirt and drew 100 circles. We did it in sets of 10. After each set we changed colors. Emma drew the small ones and I drew the others. She counted out loud and I had to count in my head. No glueing or collecting or carrying large projects for us. We keep it simple and it makes us happy.
And she just lost that top tooth. I want to get a video of her telling the story of how it came out.
It'll be great, with all the Emma dramatics.

*I just got a new Portrait lens for my camera and I kinda love it.
Do you want a portrait?
Just ask.

I love how you described Emma as your "Anne of Green Gables" girl... that fits my middle one to a tee also! And I love your new lens too...
I want a portrait...I'm just kind of far away.
Emma looks adorable and your 100 day project is adorable. We have to find 100 things that fit in a brown lunch sack...not so exciting.
She looks so happy! I'll like a portrait of Shelby & Owen, but may be in the spring when the weather gets better!
She looks Beautiful. Congrats to Emma.
Rachel stuck 100 push pins in a cork board. I like your wearable art. May keep that one in mind for Geral.
What lense did you get? I have been searching around for a good one... I have a canon rebel... what do you have???
ALSO, your pictures are AMAZING!
Julie, I have a Nikon D60 that is two years old. I got a 50mm 1.4 lens. It's a fixed lens, so no zooming, but that helps with sharp precise pictures. Also it has a large f-stop capabilities meaning it can let in more light with each shot and do that cool in focus subject with blurry background thing. Cannon has these same lenses. Another lens to look at is the 20-70mm 2.4 lens. or the 50mm 1.8 lens.
awesome, I will check it out
What a cute idea with the circles on the shirt! I am excited to see Emma's tooth missing because Maren just lost her front tooth Friday :) I wish we could get a picture of them together.
Congrats to you Emma! Can you come to OK to take pics? JK
