How About Gracie?

At nineteen months, Gracie is cracking us up at every turn. She has really started to babble. And she is not shy about it. If she has something to say, she doesn't let the fact that she doesn't speak English stop her. She articulates in her own language all her desires and thoughts. She will go on for a full minute giving you full details and descriptions of things, and I am pretty sure she tells stories too. I have never had such a jabberer. It is amazing!

She does have a few English words she uses for us primitives to understand, "nok" is milk, "ease" is please and also cheese, "s'real" is cereal, "baby" is baby, "da" is dad, "soo" is shoe, "Es" is yes, and of course, "mama" is used for every other thing.

We still haven't made it through two hours of nursery yet, but we are close! She recognizes her teachers now and a friend or two. She is getting taller, much taller. She says "owe" when I comb her hair, but she still likes it to be pretty. She tries to sneak into bed with Emma each night. She likes to go on slides more than swings at the park. She doesn't always want to hold my hand when we are out.
