Ellie and I went on a date the other night(we tried to get Emma to go with, but she decided to hang out with dad instead) . We went to the local high school production of "How the West was Dun" which was full of play on words humor and eccentric actors. Which is just the type of humor Ellie and I get a kick out of(I'm kinda twisted that way). But we had a ball. We arrived "early"(10 minutes before curtain time) to secure good seats( two rows back, front and center, without any large heads in Ellie's way), and we ended up surrounded by senior citizens. I was a bit nervous at the beginning scene when Ellie and I burst out laughing and no one else made a sound. "Oh, boy" I said to myself, "Maybe I should calm it down a bit." But I couldn't help myself, especially with Ellie giggling at my side. And soon I was saying to myself,"Go ahead and laugh Kayla, who cares that these snobby seniors are looking at you like you're crazy!" So Ellie and I laughed at every joke. Ellie was especially excited to see her Spanish teacher play the part of the evil French villain. And by the end, we had everyone else laughing with us.
Another story:
I went in to wake Ellie up one morning to get her ready for school and I found her sobbing in her bed. "I don't want kindergarten to end." It turns out that she had had dream or nightmare about going on to first grade. Trying to calm her down we started listing the good things about first grade.
1. you get to sit in the back of the bus
2. you get to play on the big kids playground
3. you get to read to the little kindergartners
4. and you still get to see your old teacher in the hall
I think she will be alright.

That sounds like such a fun date! I am trying to talk Anya into the fact that she'll like Kindergarten better than preschool.
How much fun! I'm glad you got the crowd laughing...you're awesome! That is great Ellie likes school so much!
OMG I'm gonna prepare myself for the day when Samantha comes up with that.
