Emma has had a rough week. Spring is a hard time for little one's with allergies like Emma, but with the pollen and beautiful weather comes the little critters that like to chew on little children too.
Last Thursday Night: I noticed a red bit mark on the back of her head, with two little black bugs nearby. Totally grossed out I hurridly squeezed them off her head, and made a mental note to keep an eye on her and her head.
Monday morning: The bite is looking worse, more inflamed and red. I suspect ticks so I take her in to see the docter. He said it didn't look like a tick bite, but gave me a perscription for antibiotics to treat lyme disease just in case.
Thursday afternoon: After bringing in the girls from playing outside I noticed a swollen tick embedded in Emma's hair. I do the right thing this time and get the tweezers, pull it off, and save it in a plastic bag for testing. Then I go and fill her prescription for antibiotics.
Thursday night: I decide that my backyard is a nesting ground for bugs and order Adam to spread the insect killer.
Friday afternoon: I am still finding little bits on Emma's head and I am about to pull my hair out. What is eating my kid? She hasn't been outside, I bath her everyday, and I have been checking her head all week. What am I missing?
Saturday morning: I find the culprits, small little black nits, while doing her hair. We send Adam and Ellie out to the church service project and Emma and I spend the morning delousing; Shampoo, gel, laundry, and vacuuming.
But this week have had some good times too. We have moved into full blown pottytraining mode and Emma is doing quite well. She loves getting stickers for her efforts, but my favorite time and I suspect hers as well is when she is on the pot, we have time together just the two of us to read stories and sing songs without other interruptions. Isn't funny where we get our alone time?

Oh my goodness, that is crazy. I hope she is alright. I guess I don't have to worry really about tics here. That is too cute that your alone time is on the toilet :0)
Poor Emma! She's just so cute that even the bugs want to eat her up! LOL
Tell I said "Way to go!" on the potty training.
*hugs
There was supposed to be the word "her" in there LOL. I was typing too fast LOL
