Yesterday, I also had another fun package arrive at my house. My aunt sent back my wedding veil that her daughter borrowed for her wedding nearly year ago. I had completely forgotten about it and so the package was a welcome surprise. But when I opened it I soon realized that it was not my veil. Mine was made by my mom and this one was purchased somewhere. What had happened?
My mind went to the worst places. Had my aunt lost my real veil and was now trying to cover it up with a stand-in? Was she secretly hording my veil for her next daughter's wedding? Had my cousin ruthlessly abducted it or worst, was it damaged somehow?
I dialed up my mom as fast as I could and explained the situation. What was the next step? Do we send her a threatening phone call or email? Do we purposely leave her off our Christmas card list? Do we publicly shun her at our next reunion?(Its funny how I could turn so ruthless about and item I had not thought about in more than a year)
"Hold on a minute," my mom says, "I have your veil right her in my closet. Aunt Patty gave it to me after the reception. She must have forgotten that she had given your veil back and when she found another in her house she must have thought it was yours."
Oh, good. CRISIS AVERTED. Thank you Aunt Patty for the veil and sorry to have thought those things about you, because you really are a COOL aunt.

I was watching the TLC show Clean Sweep the other day. One of the interesting tidbits they provided was that anything you haven't used in two years shold be given away. I know yours is a bit different, but boy was I shocked to read your thoughts :-)
Phew, glad that turned out!!! :)
He he he, your so funny!
