Adam had to travel to Vermont today to do an installation and he left at four this morning so he could be back in time to take his girls out for ice cream on their birthdays. He's such a good daddy and husband. Since we plan on camping this summer we thought Ellie's birthday would be a good opportunity to get her some camping gear. Our idea was not based on just economics, she really enjoys the prospect of camping. She has also spent the last week sleeping in her little play tent on the floor of her room. She was so excited to see her pink DIVA sleeping bag, pink camping chair, and pink fishing pole.
I am so glad that Ellie is finally three. She is so tall that I was always getting comments when people asked how old is she. "She's only two, but she is so big," they would say and I would reply, "Yes, she is a big girl and she is going to be a great basketball player." Hopefully, three won't get so many responses.
Turning twenty-four does seem a little older to me than usual. Up until now I have always felt like a young gal just playing at being a mom, but at twenty-four with two kids I think I am almost an experienced Mom. I say things like, "Well with my kids I would do this," or "During my pregnancies it was never like that." You know, stuff in plural. Plus my first sibling is finally getting married after Adam and I have been married for five years. We are losing our newlywed title officially.
Oh well, All is great here at the Marble's. Ellie and I had a great birthday today. At the restaurant Ellie finally let me share her birthday. For most of the day it was only her birthday, but as we were getting our ice cream she piped in, "Oh, there are two birthday girls, me and Momma."
PS I changed the settings, anyone can leave a comment, but if it gets out of hand, I'll turn you all off again. Jusk kidding
