Senior Pointers and My Girls Travel the Globe Without Me

With the end of trek, it meant I could squeeze in a little time with my Mom and little sis, Shanna, before they headed home.  They were excited to come with me back to Elizabeth park to see the blooming roses that weren't quiet ready back in May.(My stubborn children and husband were happy I wasn't dragging them back there).  It was a pretty neat sight.  We strolled along, stopping or pausing at anything we wanted too. (I really need to get out more without kids-it is so relaxing and enjoyable)

We met a nice lady who took our picture and then helped us find a nice place for dinner.

My little sis is going to be a Senior this year.  So at dinner I couldn't help but try to give her some pointers on how to go out with a bang:)

1. Reach- when you are about to pound that volleyball into the ground.
2.  Keep your elbows out when coming down with a rebound.(you often can catch a girl or two sqarely in the forehead with those sharp things and they'll think twice about going up with you;)
3.  Always carry an extra quarter to buy some ranch dressing for CheeseBurger Day-it sounds gross, but it helps it slide down a bit easier.
:( alas, Shanna said there was no more cheese burger Wedsendays-how times have changed
4. Make sure you are so nerdy and righteous that the cool kids won't even bother telling you where the parties are.

haha.  She's got it covered.

Sunday everyone packed up.  We were sending our big girls, Ellie and Emma home with Grandma to have a two week adventure to Arizona and California.  Adam's mom was in charge of the trip and she gave them the time of thier lives.  They did San Diego for a the 4th of July week fitting in beach, fireworks, Sea World, and the Mormon Battalian exhibits.  Then they spent the next week visiting all the cousins around the state, Tuscan, Safford, and Snow Flake.  They swam, went to movies, rode horses, and lost things all over the place.  Emma came home with two new pair of shoes and one less stuffed animal and both girls had to be given new toothbrushes, but the tan they both had aquired was incredible.

You know who missed them the most don't you?
Thankfully my good, good Aunt J had foreseen the trouble and had sent some special gifts over with Grandma when she learned about the big girls' trip.
Those little dolls sure helped to cheer up one sad little left behind girlie.

Then my Aunt Janice collected those tired, slightly homesick little girls, made them swim one last time, fed them, and loaded them on a plane to come home to me.

We were so happy to have them back.
I never did get their disaster of a room cleaned out.
But they were missed.

What an amazing trip! I can't wait for my little boys to be old enough to head out with Gma and Gpa for a nice long week trip. OH, and I love your pointers. Being nerdy in high school is the best way to survive!
