Adam wasn't deterred at all by the pouring rain we drove through after picking up our niece and nephew from the airport and headed to Palmyra, New York.
Two hours into the drive, raining.
Four hours- Rain.
Five hours and almost there- rain turns to sprinkles.
10 minutes into the Pageant- sprinkles stop.
I do really love taking my kids to see the pageant. They know the stories, and to see them put to life is so fun. Emma was whispering to me the stories ending the entire show, as she was sitting on my lap too see over all the umbrellas(and I endured the pain as her bony bum dug into my legs, because how long will she really want to sit on my lap and whisper scripture stories?)
And the next day was so sunny.
We saw the sites.
We have been reading the stories from the Doctrine and Covenants with the girls and it was so fun to see them link those stories with the places they occurred, the Smith Farm with the Log Home, Sacred Grove, Frame House, and the Printing Press.

Ashtynn showing off her upside down reading skills.
During our tour of the Grandin Printing Press, the place where the first edition of the Book of Mormon was printed, Ellie was asked to read a scripture, Moroni 10:5. She did a splendid job and Adam and I realized that this little girl is big enough to understand and start loving the scriptures and maybe its time to start her own person scripture study.

Our Sacred Grove "hike".We tried to be quiet and humbly stroll through, but it didn't last long.We even found wild raspberries.
Our family. I thought it was pretty fun to have teenagers for a week. They were so fun and helpful and entertaining. Thanks Ethan and Ashtynn for coming.
Have you heard of Marbletown?Of course you haven't.Well, there really is one, near Palymra. And Adam's ancestors were founding fathers of that community. And here is where his family learned the gospel(we think).
As we pulled over on the side of the road to take this picture a nice older couple stopped and asked Adam if we were OK. We must of looked a sight, kids after kids piling out of a minivan in the middle of a meadow. Adam assured them that we were fine and introduced himself, "I'm Adam MARBLE, my ancestors are from here."And the woman put out her hand to shake the descendant of Nathaniel Marble.

Here is Nathaniel next to his wife, Abigail. He died in 1802.Some information on this "energetic man" can be found here.He farmed 300 acres and donated land for a cemetery, school, and church.

"cousin" Ebenezer
